RN New Graduates 

Our  New Graduate hiring is based on departmental needs throughout the year. Our Residency program lasts one year in duration, consisting of educational topics, mentoring, and team building. New Graduate comprehensive training is 8-12 weeks, including preceptorship.

 

This program is for newly graduating nurses with an ADN, BSN, or MSN degree.

We will hire for the following departments:

  • Cardiac Telemetry
  • DOU
  • Medical-Surgical
  • Oncology
  • Telemetry

  

 Open positions will be posted as RN, New Graduate with the specific department that has openings.

 

Important Information:

  • Positions will be posted for each department with openings
  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis
  • Interviews will take place until positions are filled
  • You must have a permanent CA RN license prior to start date
  • Resume should contain clinical rotation sites, department, and hours
  • Attach two letters of recommendation from clinical instructors, or school professors
  • PIH Health employees will follow the internal transfer process 

     
  • Welcome and Overview of Program
    Program Components:
  • 1-week general hospital and nursing orientation
  • 1 on 1 with trained preceptor to include department orientation
  • Formal assigned mentor for one year
  • Participation in monthly RN Residency course

 


Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Can I apply if I have not taken the NCLEX exam? Yes, you may apply, though you will need to be licensed prior to the start date of the program.
  2. Will you accept Interim Permits? No, you must be licensed prior to your start date.
  3. If I am graduating from a school out of state, will I be considered as a part of the applicant pool? Yes.
  4. How many positions are being offered? Positions offered will be determined by the needs of each department.
  5. What are the hours and time commitment of the New Graduate Training Program: RNs will be hired to work on a full-time basis. The first week of orientation is on 8-hour shift, 40 hours per week. per week. 
  6. Will I be required to work weekends and holidays? During the preceptorship period, you will be required to follow the schedule of the preceptor. That may include weekends and holidays.
